I spent thirteen years working for my father, from 1991 to 2004. Those years weren't glamorous—they were early mornings, mistakes, setbacks, and the slow kind of learning that only happens when someone expects excellence from you. My father wasn't interested in shortcuts. He believed that how you treated a customer mattered as much as the work itself. He'd spend time explaining what we were doing and why. He'd return calls. He'd stand behind what we built. These weren't business strategies to him. They were simply how things should be done.
By the time I was ready to start something of my own in 2005, I'd seen both sides of the work. I'd seen what happened when you cut corners. I'd seen what it felt like to be part of a team that cared. So when I started this company, it wasn't about doing more volume or getting bigger faster. It was about building something where quality and real communication weren't negotiable—they were the foundation.
